STATEMENT REGARDING CORONAVIRUS
JAnuary 2022 UPDATE:
Despite the ongoing pandemic, we will be open for the season! As a phase one business in NY State that accommodates groups smaller than 10, we are able to operate from our Pier 25 Manhattan home. To minimize contact with others, we will continue to run private tours only this season. This is to ensure that there is only one group on the boat at a time. We are offering two price points for all of our trips: for groups of 1-3 people and for groups of 4-6 people. To ensure passenger safety and to meet NY State Covid-19 guidelines, we are washing the boat down with soap and bleach every evening and wiping down and disinfecting all surfaces between trips. Masks are not required for parties when they are outside in the open cockpit but must be worn when entering the cabin to use the bathroom or galley. We have masks available for passengers who do not have one. Hand sanitizer is readily available throughout the boat for your use. The captain will wear a mask at all times when he/she cannot effectively social distance. Your safety and comfort are paramount and we will continue to adhere to these strict guidelines for the foreseeable future.
May 11, 2020 Update:
We hope you are all staying healthy and well. We are currently planning on starting our 2020 season on June 1. As we look toward reopening please note that this year, we will be offering private charters only to ensure that there is only one group on the boat at a time. We are offering two price points for all of our trips: for groups of 1-3 people and for groups of 4-6 people. We hope to be able to offer individual ticket sales again in the future but to ensure the safety of our customers, for the foreseeable future will be allowing only one group at a time on the boat. Thank you for understanding. We look forward to seeing you on board soon and taking you out on a boat ride.
April 16, 2020 Update:
First, we hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during this pandemic.
Although we are temporarily closed until further notice, we’d like to announce we are now offering 20% off a gift card purchase that can be used towards any tours on a future date. We will be scheduling tours for late summer, early fall 2020. Use discount code: COVIDFREE20 during checkout to receive your discount. Gift cards never expire and are transferrable.
As for how we plan to handle COVID-19 for these future dates, we will continue to make the safety and health of our passengers and staff our top priority. To ensure the safety we will be providing only private charters until further notice.
To maintain the cleanliness of the boat, we will continue to wash down the boat with soap and bleach every evening and will be wiping down all surfaces with disinfectants after every trip. Our head will be stocked with hand sanitizer for crew and passenger use and the galley sink is ready with hand soap and clean towels. When coming aboard, we encourage all passengers to sanitize or wash hands as soon as they are on aboard.
March 17. 2020 Update:
The safety and health of our customers has always been our top priority at New York Harbor Tours. As such we have always considered the overall safety, proper maintenance and cleanliness of our vessels to be an essential part of what we do: it is, indeed, a point of pride.
These are, however, uncertain times and we understand that customers have concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19). To keep our passengers safe while in our care we will only be doing private charters until further notice so as to minimize the mixing of different groups onboard our vessels.
As to boat cleanliness: we are washing down the boat with soap and bleach every evening and wiping down all surfaces with disinfectants after every trip. Our head is stocked with hand sanitizer for crew and passenger use and the galley sink is ready with hand soap and clean towels. We encourage all passengers to sanitize or wash hands as soon as they come on board.
Further, while our cancellation and refund policy has always been one of the most lenient in the industry, under current circumstances we will allow for full refunds of any cancelled trips related to COVID-19 at anytime.
We will continue to monitor information and advisories from the CDC, U.S. Coast Guard and other relevant government and non-government organizations and adjust our policies as needed. If you have any questions or concerns about safety generally or COVID-19 specifically, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
