Sites You’ll See

Our Ellis Island boat tours will treat you to a variety of different sightseeing opportunities. We also offer two different tours, and the time we leave will be up to you! Our first tour is known as Daytime Loop, and its attractions include:

  • The Empire State Building – See the most famous building in the world! Our Captain can also share some interesting facts to make your experience even more interesting.

  • The Brooklyn Bridge – Marvel at the civil engineering that made this bridge possible. As estimated 143,000 vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists cross the bridge daily, but most of them will never get to see this venerated bridge from underneath.

  • The Freedom Tower – Also referred to as One WTC or One World Trade, you’ll get a look at this magnificent testament to NYC’s never say die spirit. The Freedom Tower was built where the former Twin Towers once stood.

  • The Chrysler Building – This iconic building has been used in many different films and TV shows. Its distinctive style and great height make it instantly recognizable as part of NYC’s skyline.

  • Ellis Island – Stare in awe at the same place that 12 million immigrants first arrived at on their journey to becoming U.S. citizens. Ellis Island dates back 15,000 years. However, when you think of its immigrant history, the first name that probably comes to mind is Annie Moore on January 1, 1892.

  • Statue of Liberty – Finally, we come to the marque attraction of your tour. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French, and it was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Since then, she has held up her torch to light the way for immigrants and the people of the United States.

We also have a 3-hour Manhattan Circumnavigation tour. This boat tour to the Statue of Liberty includes everything listed above, along with:

  • The United Nations Building – This building was completed in 1952 and stands as a testament to the power of democracy and diplomacy. Delegates from 193 nations meet here to decide on some of the world’s most consequential actions.

  • Yankee Stadium – See the rebuilt Yankee Stadium that rests one block north of the original stadium’s site. Home to the New York Yankees, this stadium first opened in April 2009. It also hosts MLS games, college football games, live music, and more.

  • The Cloisters – AKA the Met Cloisters. This impressive building has a medieval theme and contains four cloisters that originated in France.

  • Plus much, much more!

Fortunately, this almost never happens. That’s because our captain has thousands of hours at sea and a completely clean record, which means they understand exactly what our vessels can safely undertake.

Our boat also has experienced deckhands on board. If you need anything, or have any questions, simply ask one of them to take care of it for you!

Ellis Island Boat Tour Options

New York Harbor Tours is proud to offer two different vessels. Depending on your group size, you can book a cruise on:

Either way, you have the ability to rent out an entire vessel for just your group. Alternatively, you can book a ticket to take the tour with other people. The good news is that there won’t be more than 16 passengers on board, which makes our Statue of Liberty cruise one of the most intimate ways to see Lady Liberty.

Give Your Entire Family Something to Remember

Planning to book our tour with your family? We have lifejackets on board that can accommodate the tiniest member of your family, even if that means a newborn baby. Please be aware that anyone 12 and younger will be required to keep a lifejacket on at all times.

Bring Your Dog with You on a Private Tour!

Private tours allow us to take your dog onboard, too! This isn’t something we can’t do if you sign up for a public tour, but we love the opportunity to have pups join us at sea. For this one reason alone, lots of people choose to book a private tour. After all, your dog is part of the family, and they also deserve to have a fun 3-hour adventure. You already know how much fun your dog has when you take him or her on a car ride. Imagine how much they’ll light up when they get to feel the wind blowing through their fur on a boat ride!
